Hungary anti-immigration bill is an 'assault on human rights': UN

GENEVA, 16 Feb. - (ANA) - The United Nations on Friday criticized Hungary’s proposed anti-immigration law that would empower the interior minister to ban non-governmental organizations (NGOs) supporting migration and urged the government to ensure freedom of association.

“The proposed legislation represents an unjustified restriction on the right to freedom of association and is a worrying continuation of the government’s assault on human rights and civic space,” U.N. human rights spokesman Rupert Colville told a news briefing in Geneva.  - (ANA) -
