Sierra Leone: Regional court to examine rights of pregnant girls to education
LONDON, 18 May. - (ANA) - The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Community Court of Justice has received an application today to examine the ban on pregnant girls to attend mainstream schools and sit exams in Sierra Leone.
Sabrina Mahtani, Amnesty International West Africa researcher, said:
“Amnesty International welcomes the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice's examination of the rights of pregnant girls to education, an important issue that has surfaced across the entire continent, from Equatorial Guinea to Tanzania." - (ANA) -
