LONDON, 13 Dec. - (ANA) - Britain’s right wing loves to claim the BBC is pro-Palestinian. The truth is the opposite. The BBC’s coverage systematically undermines Palestinians, and Rizwana Hamid has the evidence.

 

Over 12 months and 35,000 pieces of BBC output, Dr Hamid's team at the Centre for Media Monitoring (@Cfmmuk) found that Israelis received 33 times more coverage, even as Palestinians were being killed at 34 times the rate. This is not a statistic. It is a measure of whose pain is prioritised and whose is dismissed.

 

The evidence is clear. Palestinian voices were sidelined, discussions of genocide were shut down, and crucial context was erased. Rizwana Hamid's question is simple. If this is the UK’s most trusted newsroom, what hope is there for truth anywhere else?

 

Dr Hamid worked in AI, and reviewed the methodology by which this study was conducted. They used different sources of data, removed duplication, used a state-of-the-art Large Language Model and performed manual verification. All of the methods were published in report appendices.  - (ANA) -
