JOHANNESBURG, 20 April. - (ANA) - 59 is the number of license applications for crypto platforms that have been approved by South Africa’s Financial Sector Conduct Authority. 

 

The regulator had last year set a Nov. 30 deadline for crypto platforms to apply for licenses. There are still 262 applications pending. 

 

The licensing procedure is meant to ensure players in the sector comply with changes to the laws regarding digital asset laws in South Africa, which are meant to protect consumers and enable the sector’s growth.   - (ANA) -
