Ministerial dialogue forum in london

 

London, 2 June. – (ANA) -  The Moroccan Foreign Minister, Taieb Fassi Fihri, met his British counterpart in London on Tuesday in the context of the fourth round of the UK/ Morocco Ministerial Dialogue Forum. 

Fassi Fihri also met Bill Rammell, Foreign Office Minister in charge of North Africa and the Middle East abnd the two ministers discussed a range of issues of shared interest, including renewable energy. Education, counter-terrorism cooperation and radicalization.

The first round of the UK/ Morocco Ministerial Dialogue Forum was held in Rabat in June 2006. After their meeting Mr Rammell said: " Our bilateral relationship continues to go from strength to strength”. He also said that “ we face mutual challenges, particularly the threat of terrorism.  But our two countries are committed to cooperating closely in the field of counter-terrorism”. The UK is also keen to learn from Morocco's expertise in countering radicalisation. 

Mr Fassi Fihri said that his meetings provided him with the opportunity to explain to his interlocutors Morocco’s initiative of autonomy in Western Sahara in line with the United Nations search for a political solution to the Western Saharan question. (ANA)
