December showdown on ECHR as reform demands intensify
BRUSSELS, 21 Nov. - (ANA) - "Any adjustments that might be made in Strasbourg will, to my mind, have zero impact on migratory flows," said Michael O'Flaherty, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe.
Justice ministers from the Council of Europe’s 46 member states will meet in Strasbourg on 10 December to debate the future of the European Convention on Human Rights.
The meeting comes amid growing tension, as more than a dozen EU countries are pushing for changes to what they see as an urgent need to reform. - (ANA) -
