Environmental Outlook: Understanding the links between climate, biodiversity and pollution
PARIS, 27 Nov. - (ANA) - Climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution are tightly linked, yet often addressed separately. The new OECD Environmental Outlook shows how these three challenges that make up the triple planetary crisis will evolve to mid-century and offers a roadmap for more integrated action.
Introduction
Climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution are three distinct, yet inextricably linked, challenges that make up a triple planetary crisis. Policies to address them generally focus on the particular causes and effects of each rather than on the interlinkages between the three.
This OECD Environmental Outlook examines in detail the interlocking trends and drivers of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution, projects how they will evolve through mid-century, and examines policy synergies and trade-offs. It also provides a roadmap to help governments tackle these challenges in a more integrated manner. - (ANA) -
