Fresh Israeli raids in Gaza, West Bank; Pope wraps Lebanon visit
ISRAELI OCCUPIED WEST BANK AND GAZA, 02 Dec. - (ANA) - Fresh Israeli attacks in the occupied West Bank and Gaza were reported on Tuesday morning.
Hospitals in Gaza said five Palestinians were killed in renewed Israeli attacks in violation of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
The Israeli military has intensified raids across the West Bank following last night's car-ramming attack that wounded an Israeli soldier. A Palestinian teenager was killed in Israeli fire in Hebron, while sieges were imposed on a number of villages north of Ramallah.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has demanded the Syrian government demilitarise all of Syria south of Damascus in return for a security agreement.
This came after US president Donald Trump told Netanyahu to enter a dialogue with Syria and praised its president, Ahmed al-Sharaa.
Two Trump envoys - US ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack and Morgan Ortagus - were separately in Syria and Israel for talks with the country's top diplomats.
Meanwhile, Pope Leo XIV visited the site of the 2020 Beirut port explosion ahead of a Mass on the city's waterfront to mark his final day in Lebanon and the region.
