Israel to 'permanently' arm 10,000 reserve forces in occupied territories after al-Aqsa Flood lessons: Report
TEL AVIV, 23 Dec. - (ANA) - The Israeli army is planning to "permanently" arm about 10,000 reserve forces by letting them keep firearms and military equipment inside their places of residence year-round, Israeli media report, citing the lessons drawn from Tel Aviv's failure in the face of the historic Operation al-Aqsa Flood in October 2023.
According to the daily Yedioth Ahronoth, the plan centers on Division "David" (96), a unit established about a year ago that relies on older reservists, generally between the ages of 40 and 60, who volunteer to return to the army. - (ANA) -
