Resistance is Existence: DiEM25 brings leading voices of resistance to London
LONDON, 19 Jan. - (ANA) - As the UK and Europe face deepening democratic, social, and environmental crises, DiEM25 is bringing its pan-European network of resistance to London for a night of political debate, culture, and collective defiance.
Across Europe and beyond, governments are dismantling hard-won rights in the name of war, security, and the interests of the super-rich. Environmental commitments are being abandoned, while authoritarian and far-right politics increasingly shape public policy. Despite the urgency of the moment, meaningful alternatives are routinely dismissed as unrealistic.
History, however, shows that authoritarian turns never go unanswered.
On 24 March, Resistance is Existence: the Fight for our Future will bring together political leaders, thinkers, artists, and comedians to explore how resistance today means organising across borders, movements, and political actors, turning ideas, art, laughter, and solidarity into a shared force against injustice.
The event will feature:
- Political talks from Yanis Varoufakis, Francesca Albanese, Sre?ko Horvat, Grace Blakeley, Brian Eno, Jeremy Corbyn, Zack Polanski, Laura Pidcock, and Erik Edman
- A poetry reading by Inua Ellams
- Comedy by Francesca Martinez and Shappi Khorsandi. - (ANA) -
