US launches strikes, Iran closes Hormuz and hits back at three Arab countries

DUBAI/TEHRAN, 12 June. - (ANA) - The United States military's Central Command (CENTCOM) launched attacks overnight "against multiple targets in Iran", saying the strikes were in "self-defence". These strikes came after US President Donald Trump  warned the US military was preparing to strike Iran, claiming: "They've taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them; now they will have to pay the price."

Iranian media reported attacks at the port city of Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, and the southern towns of Sirik, Minab, and Karaj west of Tehran. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) then announced retaliatory strikes had been launched against US forces in the region, specifically mentioning bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, according to Iranian news reports. Moreover, Iran’s military reportedly ordered the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all vessels, including oil tankers and commercial vessels
