WASHINGTON, 01 August. - (ANA) - US President Donald Trump's aides "rushed the press" out of the Oval Office after one of his speeches sparked fears that "something was wrong", it's been claimed. Donald Trump spoke to reporters on a range of issues at the White House yesterday (July 30), including the war in Iran, his recent meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and how he wants to "end the war" in Ukraine.

 

Yet things took a decidedly stranger turn when the US President turned his attention to more domestic issues. He rambled his team were "changing all the grass in all the parks" before, bizarrely saying grass is like "human beings". It led to what one critic claimed was an urgent rush to get those in attendance the "hell out of there".

 

David Pakman described how the speech became more confusing in scenes he described as a "strange chapter in the novel that is this insane presidency". He said: "They suddenly realised something was wrong with Donald Trump in the Oval Office, and they rushed the press out."

 

Speaking on his YouTube channel, The David Pakman Show, he observed later: "As it became clear to the aides in the room that Donald Trump was starting to decompensate, and he simply couldn't do it anymore, the bevy of aides who mostly have the same look, I don't know if like, am I not supposed to notice that the aides have a very similar look? They just rush reporters out of the room."

 

He added that they appeared to be trying to "very quickly" usher people the "hell out of there". In the clip, Trump suddenly thanks those in the room, signalling an end to the meeting, and then two aides can be seen directly in front of the cameras.

 

As the camera zooms out, two female employees abruptly signal with their arms for the press to leave. And as reporters quickly departed, Trump and his associates could be seen in the background smiling politely.

 

Before the meeting came to an abrupt halt, Trump was seen saying: "Grass is like human beings. Grass is a life also. And we're changing. We're raking, cleaning and changing all of the parks. We don't have people."

 

He added: "We don't have the tents anymore. We don't have all the barbed wire up. We don't have the wire up."

 

Trump then switched gears to border security, windmills and his plans to revamp Dulles Airport in Virginia. For David, the latter topic proved particularly baffling, dubbing it a "bizarre and demented word salad".

 

Trump said: "Within a few years, it will be rated the best airport in the country. So it's going to be so efficient. Right now, it's totally inefficient between the trams and the Star Wars thing that they go up.

 

"The Star Wars and elevated buses and nobody knows what's going on. It's a real mess."

 

His reference to the George Lucas scifi classic Star Wars appears to be aimed at the shuttle-like vehicles used at Dulles. Known as "people movers", they're said to be disliked by the POTUS and have been compared to vehicles seen in the franchise.  - (ANA) -
