 Saudi pipeline outage threatens loss of 4% of global oil supply
RIYADH, 14 Sept. - (ANA) - Saudi Arabia will run out of oil stocks for exports if it doesn't restart its major pipeline to the Red Sea within days, leading to a loss of up to 4% of global supply, Saudi oil buyers and traders said.
Brent crude futures climbed 3.1 percent to $107.82 a barrel while US West Texas Intermediate rose 3.2 percent to $103.22 amid mounting supply concerns.
Preliminary ship-tracking data shows vessel transits through the Strait of Hormuz falling to single digits over the weekend, remaining well below the 10-day average of 14, Reuters reports.
US forces have redirected 101 commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz as their naval blockade continues. - (ANA) -
