AMMAN, 28 Feb. - (ANA) - Jordan said on Saturday that Iran had mounted an “aggression” against the kingdom using ballistic missiles.

 

The military had said earlier that the Jordanian air force shot down two ballistic missiles inside the kingdom, but did not say if they were specifically aimed at targets in Jordan. Several thousand US troops are based in Jordan, which has a defence pact with Washington.

 

The Foreign Ministry said that Jordan “condemns in the strongest terms the Iranian aggression against the Jordanian territories with ballistic missiles”, as well as “the aggression against the brotherly UAE”, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait.

 

It was the first mention of Iran in official statements about the conflict.  - (ANA) -
