Gaza bombing kills three, as Israeli troops open fire on civilians

ISRAELI OCCUPIED GAZA, 12 March. - (ANA) - Israeli forces killed at least three Palestinians in northern Gaza and opened fire on civilians elsewhere in the enclave, local media reported on Wednesday.

An Israeli army spokesperson said that the Palestinians were shot dead for allegedly crossing the so-called Yellow Line, delineating Israeli military-occupied territory and the site of multiple killings of Palestinian civilians.

Israeli troops also shot at civilians in Gaza City and Khan Younis, while air raids to the east of Gaza City are ongoing, with the Bureij camp also bombed.

The latest developments come as Israeli warships periodically open fire at sites along Gaza’s coast.

Israeli forces have killed at least 648 Palestinians since the 10 October ceasefire agreement, with a further 1,728 others wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Around 755 bodies have also been recovered from the rubble during this time.

The death toll since the start of the war on Gaza has topped 72,133 people, and 171,826 wounded, with Israel violating the terms of a truce with Hamas daily.

The attacks come as Israel continued its demolition of buildings across the enclave, with areas to the east of the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood being the latest target of Israeli bulldozers.

As regional tensions soar, leaders and officials from around the world have warned about worsening conditions in the besieged enclave.

On Tuesday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that the war in Iran was diverting attention away from the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The remarks were made during a meeting with UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, where the pair discussed the dire conditions and lack of aid in Gaza, despite the truce.

"We reaffirm our unconditional support for UNRWA as an essential pillar for millions of Palestinians. Thank you, Lazzarini, for your work throughout all these years. We cannot allow the serious humanitarian situation in Gaza to be forgotten," Sanchez wrote in a post on X.

Amnesty International also shed light on conditions in Gaza this week, saying that Palestinian women in Gaza have been "denied the conditions needed to live and to give life safely".

The rights organisation warned that Gaza has been pushed "to the brink" and there was a "systematic erosion of their rights to health, safety, dignity".

Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces have stepped up raids on Palestinian villages and tightened restrictions on civilians.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ media office said that all detainees held in Israeli prisons were subjected to a large-scale raid and repression last week, including the use of extreme violence, stun grenades, pepper spray, and baton beatings by guards.

Meanwhile, four Palestinians were wounded early on Wednesday when Israeli forces raided the town of Tammum, located southeast of Tubas.

Two Palestinians were also injured by Israeli fire in Nablus amid Israeli army raids, according to the official Wafa news agency, with 11 Palestinians detained south of the city.- (ANA) -
