ZARZIR, Palestine, 15 March. - (ANA) - A barrage of Iranian rockets targeted the Galilee region in Israel, striking the in three waves within an hour, early on Friday morning.

The attack has left at least 59 people injured in the town of Zarzir, whose inhabitants are Palestinians with Israeli citizenship.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the wounds range from moderate to minor in severity, adding that the missiles landed around 10 metres from a house in Zarzir.

A building in Kiryat Tuvon in Haifa was also damaged by a rocket, but no injuries were reported, the Israeli Channel 12 reported.

The Israeli military also said in a statement that sirens sounded in central and northern Israel, as it attempted to intercept a volley of missiles.

A day earlier, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps said it targeted the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet  and other US military infrastructure in the region, as well as targets in Tel Aviv and Eilat in Israel.

The IRGC added that it was using "precise and heavy" Khorramshahr missiles with a two-ton warhead. It also said it was using Qadr missiles, which have multiple warheads, Emad missiles with a one-ton warhead, and Kasser Khaibar missiles with a one-ton warhead, as well as suicide drones.

Israel’s health ministry said that since US-Israel war began on 28 February at least 2,975 people have been injured in Israel.

Meanwhile, Israeli strikes have been intensifying on Tehran, while new forced evacuation orders have been issued to residents.

The Israeli army said on Friday that it carried out attacks in Tehran, Shiraz, and Ahvaz simultaneously, claiming to have targeted production and storage sites across the cities.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the strikes had killed several Iranian nuclear scientists, claiming that a "new path of freedom” for Iran was on the horizon.

He said Israel was seeking to "create the conditions" to enable Iranian people to "achieve their freedom" and that Israel has achieved "significant gains".

US-Israeli attacks on Iran have killed 1,444 people and injured 18,551 since February 28, according to the Iranian Health Ministry.

Iran’s IRNA reported, citing the country’s Red Crescent Society, that the US-Israeli strikes have damaged 24,531 civilian units, noting that 19,775 of them are residential.

The report adds that around 4,511 businesses have also been damaged, raising concerns about the economic ramifications. An additional 69 schools have been damaged in the continued attacks, and 16 Red Crescent centres have also been partially destroyed.   - (ANA) -
