What’s the cheapest way to make electricity at scale? The answer may surprise you
LONDON, 07 Apil. - (ANA) - Solar power has become the cheapest way to generate electricity worldwide, driving rapid growth, especially in the Global South where unreliable grids make solar an attractive solution.
Production is now concentrated in China, while countries like Australia lead in rooftop solar adoption. Despite a slowdown in the U.S. due to the repeal of renewable incentives, solar remains cost-competitive with fossil fuels even without subsidies.
As markets shift from subsidies to competition, solar and battery technologies are expected to grow more robustly after a brief adjustment period. - (ANA) -
