Iran says its proposal to end war is 'generous and responsible'
TEHRAN, 12 May. - (ANA) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei says Tehran's counter-proposal to end the war is "generous and responsible". He accused the US of insisting on making "one-sided, unreasonable demands" shaped by Israel.
"Our demand is legitimate: demanding an end to the war, lifting the [US] blockade and piracy, and releasing Iranian assets that have been unjustly frozen in banks due to US pressure," Mr Baghaei said.
"Safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and establishing security in the region and Lebanon were other demands of Iran, which are considered a generous and responsible offer for regional security."
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, meanwhile, said in a social media post that Iran would "never bow down to the enemy" and would "defend national interests with strength".
US President Donald Trump has described Iran's reply to American proposals to stop the conflict is "totally unacceptable".
"I have just read the response from Iran's so-called representatives. I don't like it," Mr Trump wrote. - (ANA) -
