BEIRUT, 12 May. - (ANA) - An Israeli soldier has been jailed for 21 days for putting a cigarette in the mouth of a Virgin Mary statue in Lebanon.

 

A second soldier who filmed the act of desecration was sentenced to 14 days in military prison.

 

It was the second such incident in weeks in southern Lebanon, after two troops were removed from combat duty for vandalising a likeness of Jesus.   - (ANA) -
